Years of experience

Hi everyone!

I just have a quick question. When on applications you are asked for years of experience, does that account for the time you studied the subject in university/college?

I thought it did, however some ask for specifically work experience while others say design experience.
Maybe they just mean work anyway…? What do yous think? I don’t want to be lying to accidently lying to employers or underselling myself either.

Include study time? no

Years of experience means work: whether paid or voluntary.

I would include non-study projects, for example the creation of web-sites in a not-for-profit context.
