Suggestions for UX courses focused on research and techniques

Hi,

Suggestions for UX courses under $1000? I’m currently a Web dev / designer but I need to refine my processes and learn more about UX research and other techniques (user personas, IA, etc.)

I’ve been looking at the following but not sure:
General Assembly ($850)
https://generalassemb.ly/education/learn-user-experience-design-online

DesignLab ($299 each)

Brainstation (local workshop $600)

Suggestions or advice?

I would definitely recommend the ones in the designlab. Great curriculum with experienced advisors.

Hey @jon0 – welcome.

Have a read through a few of these discussions about UX course comparisons – you’ll pick up advice and opinions from people that have taken the courses, and those that mentor them.

I’d also consider Colman Walsh’s uxtraining.com – read @AshleaMcKay’s review of that here.

@HAWK Thanks for the links. I was looking at some earlier but of course other personal reviews are always great as well.

I forgot about uxtraining.com. I’m going to review all the course syllabus’ and look at more reviews but at this point I’m leaning towards a combination of:

  • uxtraining.com
  • DesignLabs - UX Research & Strategy
  • A few Joe Natoli courses/training like Built For Use

And maybe in the new year do Springboards UX design course to reinforce my knowledge of everything.
