Heat Mapping software

Curious as to what, if any, heat mapping software some of you all use and what you’ve had good luck with. Most of our conclusions on changes to make to our site has been based off of best guesses, and I want to implement one of these so we can actually make some informed decisions. Google Analytics only gets you so far.

I’ve been looking at Crazy Egg and [URL=“http://heatmaptracker.com/”]Heat Map Tracker, but if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great!

Hey crimsonvessel

There are about 12 tools listed on our Tools page.

The one I’ve had a bit of experience with is not an accurate heat mapping software at all, but one that simulates eye movement (Attention Wizard). The output was interesting, and I only used it a couple of times, but I was skeptical. Then I read an [URL=“http://rosenfeldmedia.com/blogs/eye-tracking-the-ux/participant-free-eye-tracking/”]experiment that someone performed which confirmed my suspicions. I haven’t really had the opportunity to try any others out since then.

I’m currently working on Heatmapping technology for iOS and Android. If you guys are interested please PM me or DM me on Twitter @narekk.

Hotjar! It’s in beta, and they have been slowly rolling out invites - I’ve had it for a few days and have to say that it has been an absolute breeze to implement, and I think it will be a key player in the future. It does all that you ask, plus much more - when they introduce more filters to the visitor playback service then I think it will be really powerful.
