Cumulative Layout Shift is becoming a ranking factor - (Thought and what it means?)

Has anyone heard of the Cumulative Layout Shift becoming a ranking factor?

I need to prepare for it, but really trying to work out what it all means from a design point of view, it seems it is aimed at a number of things, one being the movement of elements from its original placement?

Does anyone have any advice or thoughts?

I didn’t know anything about it until just now. Google suggests a few tools to find out what your CLS score is. Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)

I’d start there. Maybe it will give you some feedback as to what needs fixing.

Interesting! I have certainly experienced this often enough (often on news sites), and it is a huge UX pain. Nice to know that it has a name and some metrics!
