Calculating ROI on UX

We often talk about finding ways to convince management of the value of UX. I just found this interesting article by Angela at Normal Modes.
Do any of you go through this kind of process before doing projects? Do you think it’s something that should be done?

Thanks for this link! Uber useful for me - we are helping part of the business communicate why they should be including UX and more specifically usability (starting small!) into their projects.

Measuring UX is an integral and given that we are balancing the user and business needs, almost inevitably the financial benefits need to be measured. If your organisation is sceptical or at the start of the journey into taking on a UX methodology, I think that showing value in financial terms, which is in most cases the language the business understands, helps us justify and highlight more than just the user benefits of UX.

Thanks again!
