If you are out and doing user interviews, what do you use? Is there an app or what?
hi @ralphc_nyc
- for the desktop experience, most of the sessions are done with a windows machine so I use Snagit
- for the mobile experience, you have plenty of apps to record the user gestures.
We are quite happy with:

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hecorat.screenrecorder.free

I use Camtasia for in-person desktop testing, and WebEx for remote testing.

If I’m doing contextual enquiries or in-depth interviews, one of the things I have used is the Rev.com app on my mobile phone as you can upload your transcript straight to rev. You can also hook up a good mike to the phone for better sound quality.
I’ve also used a good mike with an audio recorder.

For the really heavy-lifting projects, I’ve seen a lot of MaxQDA.
