UX for checking out and subscription sites

I often come up against questions about great ecommerce check out experiences, especially for subscription services (think: online community subscriptions).
I’d love to pick your brain about this @Louise_Campbell

Any tips or examples of sites that do this really well?

Hi Hawk - Ok, great question.
An example of subscription services that works for communities is - Linkedin see att. header “Try Premium for Free” (logged-in). You could use this example for UX mastery. For example you could include a similar CTA on the header for UX Mastery “Try Gold for Free” if that’s the route you are thinking about.

From a UX angle it could be improved depending on the user flow and business objectives, but it’s a good example of how you could introduce it to a community.
An example of Pricing plans when you click on "Try Premium for Free” Linkedin is:
https://www.linkedin.com/premium/products?trk=nav_responsive_sub_nav_upgrade (once you click on a plan it is fairly complex with tonnes of text to read - this could be improved but you can start to see the user flow involved)
For ecommerce here are a couple of best examples that I know of:
https://www.bigcartel.com/signup/ (clear value proposition and very easy to use and get started)
https://www.shopify.com/pricing (ditto)
I hope that helps you?
Let me know, thanks.
Warmly, Louise

That’s a brilliant response – much appreciated. Those examples are gold.

(Just for the record, it’s not UXMastery that I’m referring too – I’m a community consultant so work with a number of organisations.)

Thanks @ILOVETHEHAWK anytime! Let me know how it goes, feel free to reach out to me anytime.

Warmly,

Louise
