I graduated with a degree in illustration design, but quickly realised that illustration was not really the career for me. Since then I have been working in administrative positions, doing artwork and creating things on the side. What I didn't realise was that I incorporate a lot of UX thinking into much of my creative endeavours, and have done for years. A couple of years ago, a friend of mine who works in UX kept bugging me that I should get into the field, but at that time there was very little training available and I had no idea how to even start. I am now enrolled in a Fast Trak certificate course in experiential design, reading everything I can lay my hands on, have one project under my belt and am doing another one pro bono. My rudimentary portfolio is up, but I can't wait to get to the point that I feel confident in what I am doing. I am very excited by this field, and look forward to learning from all of you.
