What are the advantages of having a real-time preview for a text editor like we have here?
People can see what they’re doing so they don’t have to waste time going back and editing.

Take a look at Stack Overflow, if you have code being typed in or mark down then the preview is almost essential.
That’s why it’s here also. This is a markdown UI (although in this particular community you can get away without using markdown at all).
