This is my first post on here the UXmastery boards -- really excited to be on here. I've been digging through UXmastery and enjoying the good content for a long time but just recently discovered the boards. Looking forward to learning, contributing, and being helpful.
My background: I started making websites at the age 12. Was doing web development for a long time, then walked into the world of business and community development and loved it. As of the last two years I have found myself back into the product design and development world (specifically web and mobile products) and naturally ended up doing a lot of what we define as UX.
What is UX to me? I think user experience design is about focusing on the ever-so-critical membrane that divides the bits of technology with the human mind. Whatever we call a "user" is actually a human being We have feelings, thoughts, dreams, weaknesses, and values. We live in the Information Century now, and because of that much of the products we use to achieve and consume are digital. As UX designers, we are responsible for participating in this techno-evolution by making sure the products we build are actually useful. A product designer focuses on the product and it's achievement of solving the user problem. The UX designer is responsible for ensure a user-driven design perspective is part of this process.
My interests in UX: I am really excited about how we can use technology to assist us in making technology more usable and human-friendly. I am currently working on a product to help achieve this for mobile applications. If you build or design mobile apps, I would love to talk with you
I am glad to be here, and look forward to learning from you all. I'd love to meet and talk with every single one of you on here, so please write me or get in touch on twitter, I am @narekk.
